Fiber Network Planner – Damascus Based

About the role

The Fiber Network Planner will design, validate and document fiber routes, topology and capacity for our projects in Damascus. The role ensures that all network plans align with service requirements, downstream transport and IP planning needs.

Key responsibilities

• Develop comprehensive fiber network plans covering backbone, metro, access, inter‑site connectivity and route diversity.
• Analyse existing fiber inventory, GIS records, duct data, ODF records and field survey outputs to identify gaps and constraints.
• Prepare route plans, fiber allocation, cable/core utilization, ODF/patching requirements and diversity assessments.
• Coordinate with civil works, field survey, implementation, operations and vendor teams to validate routes, distances and feasibility.
• Support DWDM, IP/MPLS, enterprise, wholesale and critical service requirements.
• Define naming conventions, route identifiers, core assignments and documentation standards.
• Reconcile planned records with physical inventory, as‑built documentation and circuit data.
• Identify and mitigate fiber risks such as single points of failure, capacity shortfalls or inaccurate records.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Telecommunications, Electrical Engineering or related field.
• 7+ years of experience in fiber network planning, OSP/ISP design, telecom rollout or fiber inventory engineering.
• Strong understanding of fiber topology, ODFs, splicing, patching, cable structures, route diversity and GIS.
• Fluency in Arabic and English.
