Field Officer – Community Engagement & Project Coordination

About the role
The Field Officer will be based in Rihab and will support AVSI in implementing community‑focused projects. Working closely with local authorities, partners and beneficiaries, the officer ensures activities are delivered on time, with quality and in line with safeguarding standards.
Key responsibilities
- Maintain regular communication with local authorities, community leaders and other stakeholders.
- Lead stakeholder mapping, develop engagement strategies and build strategic relationships.
- Coordinate with AVSI’s partner FPEC on beneficiary selection and project implementation.
- Prepare weekly and monthly activity plans, track progress and report to the Project Manager.
- Identify operational risks, propose corrective actions and ensure compliance with project standards.
- Supervise youth contractors collecting cultural‑heritage data and ensure data accuracy.
- Organise trainings, manage logistics (venue, catering, equipment) and monitor trainee attendance and outcomes.
- Support MSMEs and home‑based businesses through capacity‑building activities and monitor their sustainability.
- Facilitate community meetings, gather visibility materials and ensure transparent communication.
- Collaborate with the MEAL department for accurate reporting and use of monitoring tools.
- Prepare activity reports and ensure adherence to safeguarding, protection and inclusion policies.
Required profile
- Minimum 2 years of experience in project coordination, community engagement or related field.
- Experience working with NGOs, local authorities and community groups.
- Proven ability to plan, monitor and report on field activities.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to work independently in a field environment.
