General Ledger Accountant

About the role

The General Ledger Accountant will ensure the accuracy and integrity of Kingdom Health's general ledger in line with IFRS and Group accounting policies. The role supports month‑end and year‑end closing, capital work in progress, fixed assets, and financial reporting across the Group’s entities, including the Hospital and University.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare day‑to‑day journal entries with proper classification and documentation.
• Maintain capital work in progress records and the fixed‑asset register, handling additions, transfers, disposals, depreciation and reconciliations.
• Execute month‑end and year‑end closing activities, including accruals, prepaid expenses and adjusting entries.
• Perform regular reconciliations of bank, general‑ledger, sub‑ledger and inter‑company balances, investigating and resolving discrepancies.
• Support the preparation of monthly standalone and consolidated financial statements and tax reports.
• Assist ERP implementation, maintenance and enhancements related to accounting processes.
• Ensure compliance with IFRS, tax regulations, Group policies and internal controls, and support audit activities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance or a related field.
• 2–4 years of experience in general ledger accounting, preferably in hospital or healthcare finance.
• Professional certification (e.g., CPA, ACCA) or progress toward one is a plus.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and month‑end/year‑end closing procedures.
• Fluent in English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Proficiency with ERP systems such as SAP or Oracle.
• Advanced Excel skills (pivot tables, look‑ups, reconciliation workbooks).
