Generator & HVAC Technician – Jordan

About the role

The Generator and HVAC Technician will provide on‑site technical support for U.S. Army missions in Jordan, maintaining and repairing a range of military and commercial generators (3 kW to 150 kW) and HVAC equipment. The role involves troubleshooting, diagnostics, preventive maintenance, and training of local personnel.

Key responsibilities

• Perform maintenance, installation, removal and repair of 3 kW‑150 kW generators, including AC, DC and electronic control systems.
• Diagnose and repair HVAC units, chillers, and environmental control units mounted on trailers or vehicles.
• Operate load banks for generator testing and fabricate wire harnesses and solder terminals.
• Provide field support across Jordan and neighboring countries, and conduct training for site operations staff.

Required profile

• High School diploma; or AA/AS with 4 years experience; or BA/BS with 2 years experience.
• Minimum 3 years related experience with diesel generators and HVAC systems.
• U.S. citizenship, ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance, valid U.S. passport (≥2 years), driver’s license and international driver’s permit.
• Willingness to travel 25‑50 % to Bahrain, UAE, Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Iraq and other sites.

Required skills

• Diesel generator maintenance and troubleshooting.
• Knowledge of generator parallel systems and switchgear.
• Brazing copper tubing and refrigerant evacuation/recharging.
• Load bank operation and electrical wiring.
• Wire‑harness fabrication and soldering.
