Head Coach – National Climbing Team

About the role

The Jordan Climbing Federation seeks an ambitious mid‑career coach to lead the technical development of Jordan’s national climbing team, supervise the coaching staff and shape the federation’s coaching system.

Key responsibilities

• Personally coach at least two national team categories (4‑6 athletes each) with two weekly sessions per category.
• Supervise and allocate coaches, ensuring a unified training program and consistent standards.
• Design weekly training plans, conduct athlete assessments (TENDIQ) and monitor progress.
• Set appropriate boulder and lead routes, coordinate with the Head Route Setter, and organise monthly competition simulations.
• Prepare athletes for national and international competitions, travel with the team, and participate in selection processes.
• Manage communication with parents, maintain attendance records, and enforce JCF training, safety and ethical standards.
• Submit monthly reports covering attendance, performance, injuries, disciplinary issues and coaching team needs.

Required profile

• Strong experience coaching competitive climbers in bouldering and lead.
• Proven ability to develop youth athletes and manage long‑term athlete development.
• Leadership skills to supervise and mentor other coaches.
• Adaptability to work within a developing national federation.
• Willingness to relocate to Amman and integrate into the local climbing community.
