Health & Nutrition Coordinator – Syria (Damascus/Aleppo)

About the role

The Health & Nutrition Coordinator will contribute to improving the overall health and nutrition of targeted beneficiaries in Syria by delivering comprehensive primary health care, reproductive health, child health and nutrition services.

Key responsibilities

• Provide technical support and lead the establishment of an integrated nutrition component within existing service delivery points.
• Develop, review and monitor detailed implementation plans for health and nutrition projects, ensuring compliance with Save the Children strategies and donor guidelines.
• Review partners’ narrative and financial reports and prepare materials for monthly BvA and award review meetings.
• Lead the preparation of high‑quality donor reports, clearly documenting progress against project outputs.
• Oversee implementation of health & nutrition activities with partners, monitoring log‑frames, work plans and performance indicators.
• Coordinate closely with emergency programme teams to ensure an integrated approach and share lessons learned.
• Manage grant budgets, authorise expenditures and ensure compliance with donor and SCI financial regulations.
• Supervise and guide staff involved in health and nutrition activities.

Required profile

• Relevant university degree in public health, nutrition, medicine or a related field.
• Proven experience in humanitarian health and nutrition programmes, preferably in Syria or similar contexts.
• Strong knowledge of child health and nutrition interventions such as MIYCN, IYCF‑E, CMAM and MAMI.
• Ability to work collaboratively with partners, donors and internal teams.
• Experience in budget oversight and grant compliance is essential.
