Lead Procurement Engineer

About the role

The Lead Procurement Engineer oversees the sourcing and purchasing of technical goods and services required for plant operations. This senior position drives procurement strategy, supplier selection, and contract negotiations to ensure timely delivery and cost efficiency.

Key responsibilities

• Develop and implement procurement strategies aligned with cost‑reduction, quality, and supplier diversification goals.
• Lead and mentor procurement teams to execute sourcing activities effectively.
• Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and department heads to define procurement needs and plans.
• Identify, evaluate, and select suppliers based on quality, cost, delivery, and technical capability.
• Negotiate contracts, terms, and pricing to secure favorable agreements.
• Monitor supplier performance, conduct audits, and ensure compliance with contractual and quality standards.
• Resolve supplier issues, including quality concerns and delivery delays, to protect project timelines.
• Maintain strong relationships with key suppliers and stay informed on market trends for continuous improvement.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering.
• Minimum 10 years of experience in procurement, preferably within combined‑cycle power plants.
• Proven experience leading procurement teams and managing complex supplier contracts.
