Loss Prevention Officer

About the role

The Loss Prevention Officer is responsible for safeguarding the property, guests, and employees by monitoring security systems, conducting patrols, and responding to incidents. This role ensures a safe environment while providing courteous assistance to guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Patrol all areas of the property and control guest room access.
• Monitor CCTV, perimeter alarm, duress alarms, and fire‑life safety systems.
• Lock property entrances when required and conduct daily hazard inspections.
• Respond to accidents, provide first aid/CPR, and contact EMS as needed.
• Assist guests and employees during emergencies and defuse disturbances.
• Document all incidents, complete shift summaries and daily activity reports.
• Escort unwelcome persons and report vehicle accidents or thefts.
• Conduct investigations, gather evidence, and interview relevant parties.
• Maintain confidentiality of all security reports and proprietary information.

Required profile

• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods.
• Physical capability to lift up to 50 lb unaided and up to 75 lb with assistance.
• Clear and professional communication skills.
• Willingness to follow company policies, safety training and uniform standards.
• Ability to read and verify information in various formats.
