Multidisciplinary Design Manager – Data Centres

About the role

WSP in the Middle East is looking for an experienced Design Manager to lead multidisciplinary design and coordination of large‑scale data centre projects in Amman, Jordan. The role covers the full design lifecycle from concept through detailed design and construction support.

Key responsibilities

• Lead and manage the multidisciplinary design process for major data centre projects, coordinating Electrical, Mechanical, Structural, Architectural, ICT, Security, Fire & Life Safety and other specialist disciplines.
• Provide overall design leadership, ensuring technical interfaces between disciplines are effectively managed and that designs meet quality, constructability, sustainability and operational performance standards.
• Drive delivery of resilient, reliable, high‑performance data centre designs in line with project requirements and applicable standards.
• Lead design reviews, interdisciplinary coordination workshops and technical discussions with internal teams, clients and specialist consultants.
• Manage design programmes, deliverables, resources, risks, changes and technical approvals.
• Support BIM‑led multidisciplinary coordination and integration of design information, and mentor engineers and design team members.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Mechanical Engineering.
• Significant experience in multidisciplinary building design and design management, preferably within a major engineering or design consultancy.
• Proven ability to lead multidisciplinary design teams across MEP and associated building disciplines.
• Strong understanding of mission‑critical infrastructure and data centre design principles, including relevant international codes and standards.
• Experience working in Jordan or the wider Middle East is highly advantageous.
