National Education Expert (Jordanian)

About the role

The Sustainable Research and Development (SRD) Center is looking for a Jordanian National Education Expert to join a multidisciplinary evaluation team. The expert will guide the final evaluation of a multi‑year education sector system‑strengthening programme, ensuring that the analysis reflects Jordan’s specific policy, institutional and contextual realities.

Key responsibilities

• Provide contextual and technical expertise on Jordan’s education sector, policies, strategies and reform environment.
• Support refinement of the evaluation methodology to align with national institutional contexts.
• Contribute to the inception report, evaluation matrix, stakeholder mapping, sampling approach, data‑collection tools and work plan.
• Conduct key informant interviews, focus groups and stakeholder consultations in Arabic and/or English.
• Facilitate engagement with government bodies, education authorities, schools, development partners and other sector stakeholders.
• Assist with field‑level data collection, qualitative and quantitative analysis, and interpretation of findings.
• Assess programme relevance, effectiveness, efficiency, impact, sustainability and institutional ownership.

Required profile

• Fluency in Arabic and strong command of English.
• Deep knowledge of the Jordanian education sector, including policies, institutions and recent reforms.
• Proven experience in evaluation, research or analytical assignments within education or related fields.
