Pastry Commis (A) – Full Time

About the role

The Pastry Commis (A) supports the pastry team in delivering high‑quality baked goods and desserts for hotel guests. Working in a fast‑paced kitchen, you will follow recipes, maintain food safety standards, and assist with daily specials.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare and cook pastries and cold foods according to recipes, presentation and quality standards.
• Regulate oven, broiler, grill and roaster temperatures and monitor cooking processes.
• Thaw frozen items, portion, arrange and garnish dishes, and maintain accurate food logs.
• Communicate with chefs and service staff about menu specials, out‑of‑stock items and excess inventory.
• Assist with hiring, training, scheduling and performance coaching as needed.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, reporting any hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• Technical, trade or vocational school degree related to culinary arts.
• Minimum 3 years of relevant pastry or kitchen experience.
• No supervisory experience required.
• No specific license or certification required.

Required skills

• Oven and temperature control operation.
• Food preparation and plating.
• Food safety and hygiene practices.
• Ability to lift and move items up to 25 lb.
