Payroll Officer

About the role

ACES, a leading specialized engineering company in the Middle East offering site and geotechnical investigations, materials testing, surveying and environmental testing, is hiring a Payroll Officer in Jordan. The role processes and administers the monthly payroll of the ACES Group entities served by the Centralized Shared Services Hub, in compliance with local labor, social security and tax regulations, under the supervision of the Payroll Hub Section Head.

Key responsibilities

• Collect, validate and enter monthly payroll inputs (attendance, overtime, leave, allowances, deductions, loans, advances, bonuses, new joiners and leavers) from HR and branches.
• Process payroll in the MenaITech system, verify gross-to-net calculations and resolve variances and exceptions before release.
• Prepare bank transfer and Wage Protection System (WPS) files, wage summaries and end-of-service benefits, final settlements and leave encashment.
• Prepare statutory deductions, filings and reports (social security, income tax, Zakat and health insurance) for each country.
• Prepare payroll journal entries and reconciliations, coordinate with Finance for general ledger posting and accruals, and maintain payroll master data.
• Answer employee and management queries confidentially, support audits and statutory inspections, and keep up to date on labor, social security and tax legislation changes.
• Support payroll automation and MenaITech enhancements, comply with SLAs and internal controls, and provide backup to colleagues.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in human resources, business administration or a related field.
• 0-2 years of experience in payroll processing, preferably in a multi-country or shared services environment.
• Strong command of both English and Arabic.

Required skills

• Payroll processing and calculation, payroll accounting and reconciliation.
• MenaITech payroll module and advanced MS Excel.
• Knowledge of labor law, social security regulations, end-of-service benefits, income tax and Zakat fundamentals.
