Program Lead – Early Grade Education (Jordan)

About the role

Development Gateway is seeking a senior Program Lead to drive the Early Grade Education Activity (EGEA) in Jordan. Based in Amman, the lead will guide strategic direction, oversee technical implementation, and ensure effective data‑driven decision‑making across the education sector.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic leadership for the EGEA program, aligning activities with the overall objective of improving K‑G3 education outcomes.
• Advise and coordinate with consortium partners, the Ministry of Education, universities and other stakeholders to build consensus on data‑use and digital initiatives.
• Design and oversee user‑centered digital solutions that map the education data landscape and enhance system interoperability.
• Support the digitisation of institutional data systems, including quality‑assurance and assessment processes.
• Conduct AI‑readiness diagnostics and sandboxing exercises to integrate national AI policy safely into education functions.
• Monitor program performance, produce reports, and ensure compliance with donor requirements.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in Jordan’s education and/or digital sectors.
• Strong strategic thinking combined with the ability to engage in detailed technical work.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑stakeholder discussions and achieve consensus.
• Senior‑level professional comfortable operating in an advisory capacity.
