Project Officer – Communication & Cooperation (EU Delegation, Jordan)

About the role

The EU Delegation in Amman seeks a Project Officer (Local Agent Group I) to support communication, visibility and public diplomacy activities linked to the EU cooperation portfolio in Jordan. The position is fixed‑term for two years, reporting to the Head of Cooperation.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to all stages of the EU project cycle, from programming to monitoring and evaluation.
• Monitor EU‑funded projects, organise field visits and ensure compliance with contractual and visibility obligations.
• Design and implement the Delegation’s communication and visibility strategy for EU‑Jordan cooperation.
• Produce communication materials such as factsheets, success stories, videos, photography and digital content.
• Organise visibility events, campaigns, exhibitions and cultural diplomacy initiatives.
• Coordinate media relations, draft press material and support senior management with speeches and briefing notes.
• Manage digital communication campaigns, social‑media content and online community engagement.
• Prepare reports, briefings and analytical notes for Headquarters and Delegation management.

Required profile

• University degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, Political Science or related field.
• Minimum 5 years of professional experience in communication, visibility, public diplomacy, project management and social‑media management.
• At least 3 years of experience in digital communication, storytelling, content development and web/social‑media metrics.
• Excellent spoken and written English and Arabic.
• Right to reside and work in Jordan, good standing as citizen/resident and medical fitness.

• Graphic editing tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator).
• Video editing tools (e.g., Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro).
• Digital platforms and social‑media management tools.
• Digital advertising and web/social‑media metrics analysis.
