Project Officer – Local Agent Group I (Cooperation Section)

About the role

The EU Delegation in Amman seeks a Project Officer (Local Agent Group I) to support communication, visibility and public diplomacy activities within the Cooperation Section, contributing to the EU’s cooperation portfolio in Jordan.

Key responsibilities

• Contribute to all stages of the EU project cycle, from programming to evaluation.
• Monitor implementation of EU‑funded projects through reviews, field visits and reporting.
• Coordinate monitoring, evaluation and communication missions and ensure compliance with contractual and visibility obligations.
• Develop and coordinate communication plans, produce publications, factsheets, videos and digital content.
• Organise visibility events, campaigns, exhibitions and cultural diplomacy initiatives.
• Manage media relations, draft press material and support senior management with speeches and briefing notes.
• Lead digital communication campaigns, create multimedia content for social media and maintain the Delegation’s website.
• Prepare reports, briefings and analytical notes for Headquarters and ensure proper documentation in EU information systems.

Required profile

• University degree in Communication, Journalism, Public Relations, International Relations, Political Science or related field.
• Minimum five years of professional experience in communication, visibility, public diplomacy, project management and social media management.
• At least three years of experience in digital communication, storytelling, content development and web/social media metrics.
• Proven experience in event management and coordination of international development cooperation programmes.
• Strong knowledge of EU external action, development cooperation and communication policies.
• Fluent in English and Arabic, both spoken and written.
• Right to reside and work in Jordan and medical fitness for the role.

Required skills

• Proficiency with IT tools for graphic and video content editing.
• Experience using digital platforms and social‑media management tools.

• Base salary starting from 2,919 JOD, dependent on verified experience.
