Recreation Assistant Manager

About the role

The Recreation Assistant Manager supports the delivery of a vibrant, safe, and enjoyable leisure environment for guests. Working full‑time on‑site, you will help design activity programmes, manage supplies, and ensure high standards of service and safety.

Key responsibilities

• Create and publish recreational activity agendas and advertisements using publishing software.
• Maintain inventory of supplies, materials and equipment, notifying the manager of low stock.
• Recruit, register and schedule guests for recreation activities, promoting a fun atmosphere.
• Provide guests with information on facilities, rules and safety procedures.
• Monitor activities, respond to emergencies, and assist injured guests until medical help arrives.
• Clean and maintain equipment, and ensure compliance with company policies and appearance standards.
• Support management in training, motivating and coaching staff.
• Process customer transactions and collect payments as needed.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Ability to stand, walk, lift (up to 25 lb unaided, over 50 lb with assistance) and perform physical tasks throughout the shift.
• Strong communication skills and professional telephone etiquette.
• Capability to work with guests of all abilities and to handle emergency situations calmly.

Required skills

• Proficiency with publishing software for creating activity flyers.
• Basic computer literacy and experience with point‑of‑sale systems.
• Ability to read and verify information in various formats, including small print.
