Regional Business Development Intern – East Mediterranean

About the role

The internship supports the Regional Director, East Mediterranean, in business development, market intelligence and strategic analysis across Jordan, Iraq, Lebanon, and the West Bank & Gaza. You will work on research, reporting and stakeholder engagement to help shape EBRD’s regional activities.

Key responsibilities

• Conduct macro‑economic, sector and market research, analysing trends, regulatory developments and growth prospects.
• Prepare periodic updates, sector reviews, market assessments, country briefs and management presentations.
• Gather and analyse information on companies and sectors to support business development and strategic planning.
• Coordinate with sector teams, economists and country offices to contribute to reports and knowledge products.
• Draft briefing notes, presentations and correspondence for internal and external stakeholders.

Required profile

• Undergraduate student in Economics, Finance, Business Administration, Public Policy, International Development or a related field.
• Strong analytical, quantitative and research skills with attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication in English; Arabic is an advantage.
• Ability to manage multiple workstreams and work independently with limited supervision.

Required skills

• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel for data analysis.
• Proficiency in Microsoft PowerPoint for presentation preparation.
• Financial analysis capability and experience working with financial and operational data.
