Regional Finance Director – AMEE (Remote)

About the role

The Regional Finance Director for the Asia, Middle East and Europe (AMEE) region will lead financial management across Mercy Corps’ regional portfolio. Reporting to the VP of International Finance and the Deputy Regional Director, Operations, the role ensures compliance with internal policies, donor regulations and promotes efficient use of resources while supporting emergency response and program delivery.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and guidance to Finance Directors, Managers and the Regional Controller on award implementation and financial management.
• Conduct periodic support visits to country programs, assess financial performance and ensure adherence to Mercy Corps’ best practices.
• Monitor the regional portfolio’s financial health, identify risks and opportunities, and develop improvement strategies.
• Strengthen accounting oversight, internal controls and compliance across programs and departments.
• Collaborate with senior leadership, country teams and donors to align financial reporting and budgeting processes.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in international finance, preferably in the nonprofit or humanitarian sector.
• Proven track record managing multi‑country portfolios and large‑scale budgets.
• Strong understanding of donor regulations, financial reporting standards and compliance requirements.
• Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
