Regional Finance Director, Asia, Middle East and Europe (AMEE) – Remote

About the role

Mercy Corps is seeking a Regional Finance Director to lead financial management for its Asia, Middle East and Europe (AMEE) portfolio. The role is remote, with a preference for candidates located in the AMEE time zones, and reports to the VP of International Finance and the Deputy Regional Director, Operations.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic oversight and guidance to the Regional Controller and finance teams across the AMEE region.
• Ensure award implementation and financial management follow Mercy Corps’ best practices and donor regulations.
• Conduct periodic support visits to country programs and monitor financial performance of the regional portfolio.
• Identify risks, strengths, and opportunities, and develop strategies to strengthen financial systems and controls.
• Promote a culture of continuous improvement and problem‑solving within finance functions.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in international finance, preferably in the nonprofit or humanitarian sector.
• Proven ability to manage complex, multi‑country financial portfolios.
• Strong analytical and strategic thinking skills.
• Excellent communication and collaboration abilities with senior leadership.
