Release and Deployment Engineer

About the role

The Release and Deployment Engineer ensures reliable software delivery across QA, staging, and production‑like environments. Working closely with development, QA, architecture, and DevOps teams, you will manage deployments, maintain CI/CD pipelines, and document release processes.

Key responsibilities

• Support deployment activities in QA, staging, and controlled production environments.
• Maintain and execute Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines for .NET‑based applications and services.
• Follow approved release procedures, checklists, and rollback guidelines.
• Work with Git repositories, build artifacts, and deployment packages.
• Install and configure applications on Windows and Linux servers (IIS, Nginx, Windows Services, systemd).
• Monitor pipeline executions, deployment jobs, and application logs; escalate issues as needed.
• Execute basic SQL queries and assist with database backup, restore, and script execution.
• Use PowerShell, Bash, or similar scripting tools to automate tasks.
• Maintain release documentation, deployment notes, and internal wiki pages.
• Collaborate with developers, QA engineers, architects, and DevOps team members to ensure smooth delivery.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, IT, Software Engineering or related field.
• 2‑5 years of experience in release management, deployment, or DevOps.
• Basic understanding of the software development lifecycle and CI/CD concepts.
• Strong attention to detail, good communication, and problem‑solving skills.
