RPA Avionics Technician III – Deployment Pool

About the role
The employee will join the Deployment Pool and support deployments to various CONUS and OCONUS locations as required. The role involves supervising subordinate maintenance personnel, performing and inspecting organizational and intermediate level electronic maintenance and modifications on RPA systems and support equipment, and applying advanced technical knowledge to solve complex problems.
Key responsibilities
- Coordinate and supervise the work of assigned subordinate maintenance personnel in daily RPA maintenance operations.
- Perform and inspect organizational and intermediate level electronic maintenance and modifications on RPA systems and support equipment.
- Apply advanced technical knowledge to solve unusually complex problems affecting operational and maintenance capabilities.
- Use common and complex test instruments to diagnose and repair equipment.
- Provide technical leadership and training to lower‑level avionic technicians.
- Maintain, repair, and install various types of electronic equipment and related devices.
- Interpret Air Force technical orders, manufacturers’ manuals, and other technical publications.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Required profile
- High School Diploma or equivalent military/vocational technical training.
- Minimum five years of aircraft avionics and GCS maintenance experience.
- At least two years of experience on MQ‑9 aircraft and GCS as an Avionics Technician.
- Advanced knowledge of electronics maintenance, RFF systems, and related technical publications.
- Understanding of engine, accessory, flight control, and electronic flight control theory.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, wiring diagrams, and data tables.
- Eligibility to obtain an IAT Level II certification (e.g., CCNA Security, CySA+, GICSP, Security+ CE, SSCP, or GSEC) within 90 days of hire.
