Sea Freight Coordinator

About the role

City Shipping Logistics is looking for a motivated and detail‑oriented Sea Freight Coordinator to join our team and support our growing freight forwarding operations. The ideal candidate will have practical experience in sea freight import and export operations, with a solid understanding of international shipping procedures, documentation and coordination with shipping lines, overseas agents, clients, and customs clearance teams.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate and manage sea freight import and export shipments from booking through final delivery.
• Handle shipping documentation, including Bills of Lading, commercial invoices, packing lists, shipping instructions, arrival notices and delivery orders.
• Communicate with shipping lines, overseas agents, clients, customs brokers and transport teams to ensure smooth execution.
• Monitor vessel schedules, ETD/ETA updates, transshipments, delays and shipment status.
• Prepare and verify shipping instructions and ensure Bills of Lading are issued accurately and on time.
• Track shipments and proactively communicate updates, delays or operational issues to clients and stakeholders.
• Review freight quotations, shipping costs and related charges for accuracy before sharing with clients or finance.
• Maintain accurate shipment files, records and operational reports.

Required profile

• Previous experience in sea freight forwarding, preferably in an operational & documentation role.
• Good knowledge of import and export procedures and international shipping documentation.
• Familiarity with Bills of Lading, Incoterms, shipping instructions and containerized cargo operations.
• Strong organizational skills, attention to detail and ability to manage multiple shipments simultaneously.
• Good written and verbal communication skills in English.
• Ability to work under pressure, meet strict deadlines and proactively resolve operational challenges.
