Senior AP Accountant

About the role

The Senior AP Accountant will be based in Jordan and will manage the full accounts payable cycle for Jordan, Lebanon and Syria. You will ensure accurate invoice processing, supplier reconciliations and timely payments while complying with local tax and statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Own end‑to‑end AP accounting for the three entities, from invoice validation to payment preparation.
• Validate supplier invoices against purchase orders, receipts, contracts and approval matrices.
• Process invoices, credit/debit notes, advances, retentions and other supplier transactions.
• Perform vendor statement reconciliations, resolve duplicate or blocked items and maintain ageing reports.
• Coordinate payment priorities with Treasury and management.
• Ensure correct VAT/WHT treatment and maintain supporting documentation.
• Support month‑end close activities, accruals, pre‑payments and cut‑off procedures.
• Maintain vendor master‑data controls and segregation of duties.
• Assist with intercompany AP activities and audit requests.
• Review work of junior accountants and provide technical guidance.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in accounts payable within a multi‑entity environment.
• Strong knowledge of Jordanian, Lebanese and Syrian statutory tax requirements (VAT, WHT).
• Proven ability to manage month‑end close and meet reporting deadlines.
• Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail.
• Ability to coordinate with local teams and act as escalation point for complex issues.
