Senior Architect – Commercial & Retail Design

About the role

Elmassri Group is seeking a Senior Architect to lead design for a major commercial retail project in Amman. The role involves creating interior and common‑area concepts for large‑scale retail environments and ensuring seamless coordination across multidisciplinary teams.

Key responsibilities

• Review existing architectural drawings, design packages, site information, and ongoing works.
• Conduct design audits to identify technical and operational issues.
• Develop interior and common‑area concepts for large‑scale retail spaces, including entrances, atriums, circulation, public zones, F&B interfaces, and seating areas.
• Create floor‑by‑floor design concepts covering finishes, ceilings, walls, materials, furniture, lighting, and feature elements.
• Prepare and review plans, elevations, sections, details, material boards, and design presentations.
• Coordinate architectural and interior design with MEP, fire & life safety, wayfinding, signage, and other specialist consultants.
• Contribute to storefront and tenant interface standards and support tenant design & fit‑out guidelines.
• Review designs for constructability, address coordination issues, and participate in value engineering while preserving design intent.
• Collaborate with internal designers, external consultants, and project management, and attend design coordination and client meetings.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Architecture.
• Minimum 6 years of professional experience, preferably in shopping malls, retail, hospitality, mixed‑use or large commercial projects.
• Strong architectural and interior design understanding with excellent technical detailing and coordination abilities.
• Ability to read and review complex architectural and consultant drawings.
• Excellent English communication skills and ability to work independently and take ownership.
