Senior Assessment Officer – Public Health (OPt) – Amman

About the role

The Senior Assessment Officer will support IMPACT Initiatives’ public‑health research portfolio in the occupied Palestinian territories. Working from Amman, the officer will lead data collection, analysis and reporting on food security, WASH, nutrition and health to produce timely, evidence‑based insights for humanitarian actors.

Key responsibilities

• Implement multi‑sectoral household assessments, displacement‑site mapping and market surveys across Gaza and the West Bank.
• Analyse complex datasets, identify trends and translate findings into clear reports, visualisations and presentations.
• Ensure data quality and methodological rigour throughout all research cycles.
• Disseminate results to partners, donors and field teams, tailoring messages for diverse audiences.
• Mentor junior staff and strengthen analytical approaches within the research team.

Required profile

• Advanced degree or equivalent experience in public health, epidemiology or a related field.
• Proven experience conducting humanitarian assessments in conflict‑affected settings.
• Strong analytical mindset with the ability to work under tight deadlines.
• Familiarity with the socio‑political context of the occupied Palestinian territories is an advantage.
