Senior Associate Scientist – Formulation Development

About the role

Hikma Pharmaceuticals is seeking a Senior Associate Scientist to lead formulation development activities in Amman, Jordan. The role involves designing and executing scientific studies to create new pharmaceutical products and improve existing technologies. The successful candidate will work within a collaborative environment that values innovation, care, and teamwork.

Key responsibilities

• Follow departmental policies, SOPs and standard operating procedures to ensure controlled, consistent work.
• Implement analytical research activities, including study design, routine procedures and reporting of any issues.
• Conduct development activities for basic pharmaceutical formulations, reporting obstacles and supporting timely product development.
• Prepare and present results through written reports, publications and related documentation.
• Summarize and critically evaluate study results to generate new hypotheses, execute experiments and author technical reports.
• Participate in scale‑up processes from bench‑top to pilot scale and assist in technology transfer to commercial plants.
• Maintain a knowledge base by tracking relevant publications and emerging technologies.
• Gather information from multiple sources to solve complex technical challenges on internal and external projects.

Required profile

• Scientific background in pharmaceutical formulation development.
• Excellent oral and written communication skills for presenting results.
• Experience participating in scale‑up and technology‑transfer activities.
