Senior Backend Developer

About the role

First Tech is seeking a Senior Backend Developer to design and build scalable, secure, and high‑performance backend systems for its digital platforms serving financial services and other industries. The role combines modern .NET development with AI‑assisted coding tools to deliver reliable APIs and services.

Key responsibilities

• Design, develop, and maintain backend services using .NET Core, C#, and MS SQL Server.
• Create and optimize RESTful APIs, integrations, and distributed services.
• Leverage AI coding assistants such as Claude Code, GitHub Copilot, or Cursor to accelerate development while ensuring code quality and security.
• Review, debug, and validate AI‑generated code through testing, peer reviews, and performance tuning.
• Implement automated tests, CI/CD pipelines, and manage deployments across development, testing, and production environments.
• Collaborate with product, engineering, and cross‑functional teams in an Agile setting to deliver features.
• Continuously evaluate emerging AI tools and engineering best practices to improve productivity.
• Produce technical documentation and mentor teammates on AI‑driven development practices.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related field.
• 8+ years of experience building scalable backend applications with .NET Core, C#, and MS SQL Server.
• Proven experience working in an AI‑assisted development environment and validating AI‑generated code.
• Strong background in designing scalable architectures, APIs, and distributed systems.
• Experience with automated testing, CI/CD, Git, GitHub, Jira, and Agile methodologies.
• Familiarity with cloud platforms, Docker, and containerized deployments (preferred).
• Excellent analytical and communication skills and a passion for leveraging AI to boost productivity.
