Senior Backend Engineer

About the role

Rahal is building a next‑generation travel platform within Iraq’s Super Qi ecosystem. As a Senior Backend Engineer you will design and deliver robust, secure, and scalable services that power hotel inventory, flight bookings, and digital travel experiences.

Key responsibilities

• Design, implement, and document reusable, clean, and well‑tested backend solutions.
• Support partners in integrating with Rahal’s published APIs.
• Translate product requirements into technical specifications and detailed implementation plans.
• Identify technical debt, propose mitigation strategies, and drive continuous improvement.
• Conduct peer code reviews and mentor junior team members.
• Maintain and evolve reporting frameworks and communication standards.

Required profile

• 5+ years of software engineering experience, preferably in backend development.
• 3+ years of proven remote work experience with strong self‑management.
• Ability to lead technical discussions and understand business impact.
• Continuous learning mindset and passion for optimizing systems.
