Senior Business Development & Grants Manager – Multi‑Country Office

About the role

The Senior Business Development and Grants Manager leads all business development, pre‑positioning and grants activities for Mercy Corps’ Multi‑Country Office covering Syria, Jordan and Yemen. Based in Amman, the role drives multi‑country resource mobilisation, donor engagement and the full grants lifecycle while providing strategic direction and team leadership.

Key responsibilities

• Lead business development, pre‑positioning and grants functions across the Multi‑Country Office portfolio.
• Develop and manage multi‑country resource mobilisation strategies, ensuring high‑quality donor engagement and competitive proposal development.
• Oversee the complete grants lifecycle from concept note through implementation, monitoring and close‑out.
• Provide strategic direction in line with Mercy Corps’ Pathway to Possibility and PM@MC standards.
• Directly manage and mentor the Reporting Officer, conducting performance reviews and supporting professional development.
• Coordinate with country managers, program teams and regional award management to ensure compliance and alignment.

Required profile

• Extensive experience in business development, grant writing and resource mobilisation within humanitarian or development contexts.
• Proven ability to lead multi‑country teams and manage complex donor relationships.
• Strong understanding of grant management processes and donor compliance requirements.
• Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
