Senior Cards Fraud Monitoring Officer

About the role

Jordan Kuwait Bank is looking for an experienced and analytical Senior Cards Fraud Monitoring Officer to join its Compliance Department in Amman. The role monitors card transactions, detects and investigates potentially fraudulent activity, assesses emerging fraud risks and helps strengthen fraud prevention controls in line with regulatory requirements and the bank's policies.

Key responsibilities

• Monitor and analyse card transactions to spot suspicious activity and unusual patterns.
• Investigate fraud alerts and incidents, documenting them and escalating or resolving them promptly.
• Analyse fraud trends and typologies and recommend preventive and corrective measures.
• Evaluate existing fraud detection rules and monitoring scenarios and recommend improvements.
• Handle complex fraud cases and coordinate with stakeholders.
• Work with Cards Operations, Risk Management, IT and other departments to reduce card fraud risk.
• Ensure compliance with Central Bank of Jordan regulations, international payment scheme requirements and internal policies.
• Prepare fraud monitoring reports, incident analyses and key risk indicators for management.
• Contribute to process improvements that improve fraud monitoring and risk mitigation.

Required profile

• Bachelor's degree in Banking, Finance, Business Administration, Information Systems or a related field.
• 4-5 years of banking experience, preferably in card fraud monitoring, fraud investigation, fraud risk management or payment card operations.
• Good knowledge of banking regulations, compliance requirements and fraud risk management.
• Ability to investigate complex cases, analyse transaction patterns and work under pressure with multiple priorities.

Required skills

• Understanding of card payment systems, transaction monitoring and fraud detection methods.
• Experience with card fraud monitoring systems and familiarity with Visa and Mastercard.
• Strong analytical, investigative and problem-solving abilities, plus communication and reporting skills.
