Senior Consultant / Assistant Manager – Risk Consulting – Financial Crime & Compliance

About the role

EY is seeking a Senior Consultant/Assistant Manager to join its Financial Services Risk Management practice in Amman. You will work within the Risk Management – Financial Crime & Compliance team, advising banks, insurers and asset managers on trade finance regulations, trade‑based money laundering, export controls, sanctions and internal control frameworks.

Key responsibilities

• Provide strategic advisory on trade finance regulatory compliance and TBML risk mitigation.
• Design and optimise trade compliance operating models, transaction review processes and control environments.
• Assist clients in establishing effective controls across trade processes and documentation.
• Conduct detailed reviews of trade documentation and supply‑chain movements to identify regulatory and financial‑crime risks.
• Collaborate with cross‑functional teams to deliver integrated risk‑management solutions.

Required profile

• Strong understanding of economic and market issues and their impact on financial‑services clients.
• Exceptional attention to detail for reviewing complex trade documentation.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills for summarising intricate trade risks.
• High integrity and sound ethical judgment when handling sensitive information.
• Ability to work independently in a remote or hybrid environment while managing multiple reviews.

Required skills

• Market risk experience in banking or advisory services.
• Knowledge of trade finance regulations, export controls and sanctions.
• Experience with trade‑based money laundering (TBML) risk management.
• Familiarity with internal control frameworks and compliance operating models.
