Senior Contributions Officer

About the role

The Senior Contributions Officer leads the Contributions team at UNRWA headquarters, ensuring accurate recording, analysis, and reporting of donor contributions across the agency. This position reports to the Head of External Relations Services and provides supervision to professional and general services staff.

Key responsibilities

• Plan, develop and manage the Contributions team’s operations, maintaining up‑to‑date records and data analytics on agency‑wide donor contributions.
• Prepare tailored reports and donor data for internal and external audiences, including Emergency Appeals, Annual Operation Reports, Financial Statements, and website publications.
• Support External Relations and Communications outreach by providing contribution statistics, historical trends, donor rankings, and dashboards.
• Collaborate with Finance (Treasury, Accounts, Budget) to ensure proper recording, reconciliation, and forecasting of donor funding.
• Oversee month‑end and year‑end closure activities, coordinating schedules and ensuring timely contribution status reports.
• Provide agency‑wide guidance on pledged, received, and pipeline contributions, advising on corrective actions and follow‑up with field offices and headquarters.
• Contribute to the development of the External Relations work plan and performance evaluation tools.

Required profile

• Proven experience in managing donor contributions, financial reporting, or related external relations functions.
• Ability to supervise staff and coordinate across finance, partnerships, and communications units.
• Strong analytical mindset with attention to detail in data management and reporting.
