Senior General Ledger Accountant

About the role

The Senior GL Accountant will be responsible for maintaining high‑quality general ledger records and financial reporting for the Jordan entity. Reporting to the Chief Accountant, the role ensures accurate posting, reconciliations, and compliance with both Group IFRS policies and local statutory requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain the general ledger, ensuring all transactions are correctly classified, supported and posted.
• Prepare recurring, accrual, pre‑payment, depreciation, provision, re‑classification and adjustment journals with proper documentation.
• Perform monthly balance‑sheet reconciliations and resolve reconciling items promptly.
• Support month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end closing activities, meeting the approved timetable.
• Prepare trial balance analyses, account schedules, movement analyses and audit files.
• Record and reconcile intercompany transactions, including foreign‑currency balances and settlement differences.
• Assist with fixed assets, leases, provisions, payroll‑related entries, inventory/WIP interfaces and project accounting.
• Ensure compliance with Group accounting policies, IFRS and Jordan statutory rules.
• Maintain clean audit trails in Odoo/ERP and coordinate with sub‑ledger owners.
• Review work of junior accountants, provide technical guidance and act as escalation point for complex issues.

Required profile

• Senior‑level accounting professional with extensive GL experience.
• Strong knowledge of IFRS and Jordan local statutory accounting requirements.
• Proven ability to manage month‑end, quarter‑end and year‑end close processes.
• Experience working with Odoo or similar ERP systems.
