Senior Liferay Developer

About the role

We are looking for a Senior Liferay Developer to lead the administration and development of our OpenText Liferay platform in Qatar. The role involves managing platform components, delivering custom applications, and providing expert support to end‑users.

Key responsibilities

• Administer and configure the OpenText Liferay platform, including installation of CARS, OTDS and related components.
• Perform backup, restore, and system configuration tasks on Liferay.
• Create and manage users, roles, teams and identity packages.
• Design, develop and test web services and SOA integrations within Liferay.
• Investigate logs using Liferay’s logging framework and troubleshoot business processes.
• Configure OTDS for directory integration and manage user provisioning.
• Deploy applications, assemble entity hierarchies, and expose entities as web services.
• Build user interfaces with lists, forms and layouts.
• Write clean, testable, scalable Java code aligned with project objectives.
• Collaborate with internal teams, prepare project reports and support other developers.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or a related field.
• 5–8 years of professional experience in Java‑based development.
• Certification in coding is preferred.

Required skills

• Strong Java development expertise.
• Extensive experience with Liferay Platform administration.
• Knowledge of OpenText Directory Services (OTDS) and CARS.
• Proficiency in building and consuming web services and SOA solutions.
• Experience with Liferay logging framework and process Instance Manager.
• Ability to design UI components using Liferay lists, forms and layouts.
