Senior Outpatient Pharmacist

About the role

The Senior Outpatient Pharmacist leads daily operations of a hospital outpatient pharmacy, ensuring safe medication dispensing, efficient inventory management, and high‑quality clinical support for patients.

Key responsibilities

• Oversee the outpatient dispensary, manage stock, and ensure regulatory compliance.
• Screen and verify outpatient prescriptions, provide medication counseling, and support clinical workflows.
• Mentor and train new pharmacy staff, communicate updated policies, and conduct performance appraisals.
• Coordinate with physicians, nurses, and multidisciplinary teams to optimize patient care.
• Schedule staff shifts, handle leave requests, and monitor workload.
• Implement financial rules for insurance billing, cash handling, and invoicing.
• Maintain accurate inventory, perform periodic checks of stock levels, batch numbers, and expiry dates.
• Audit billing data and report stock discrepancies to administration.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Pharmacy or Doctor of Pharmacy (PharmD).
• Valid Ministry of Health pharmacist license and JPA membership.
• Minimum 6 years of pharmacy practice experience in a hospital setting.
• Strong critical‑thinking, decision‑making, and problem‑solving abilities.
• Excellent counseling and communication skills in English and Arabic.
• Ability to work independently, organize tasks, and perform under pressure.
