Site Engineer – Water Desalination Project

About the role

CDM Smith is seeking a Site Engineer to support the Aqaba‑Amman Water Desalination and Conveyance Project. The role will coordinate utility interfaces, permitting, right‑of‑way matters and government relations, ensuring smooth implementation and progress against project requirements.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate utility interfaces, permitting activities and right‑of‑way matters with the Ministry of Water and Irrigation, EPC contractor and other government stakeholders.
• Support technical reviews, stakeholder meetings, site visits and prepare reports, minutes and correspondence in English and Arabic.
• Track and monitor permits, approvals, utility‑interface registers and escalation of issues to the Technical Specialist Engineer.
• Assist in identifying, assessing and resolving utility clashes, relocations and protection requirements.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil, Environmental or related engineering.
• Minimum 8 years experience in infrastructure, water or large‑scale development projects.
• Licensed Engineer with the Jordan Engineers Association and Jordanian citizenship.
• Fluent in English and Arabic (reading, writing, speaking).

Required skills

• Proficiency with AutoCAD, Civil 3D and GIS software.
• Advanced use of Microsoft Office applications.
