Stewarding Supervisor

About the role

The Stewarding Supervisor leads the stewarding team in a hotel environment, ensuring guests and members receive an excellent experience. This position oversees back‑of‑house cleanliness, safety, and efficient dish‑washing operations while supporting team development.

Key responsibilities

• Supervise stewards and maintain high service standards.
• Train and develop team members.
• Coordinate daily pot‑wash and dish‑wash activities.
• Maintain back‑of‑house areas to strict cleanliness schedules.
• Enforce health, hygiene and safety guidelines, including proper PPE use.
• Report equipment faults to management, executive chef, and engineering.
• Ensure safe and efficient operation of kitchen machinery.
• Assist with equipment location, movement, storage and stock‑takes.
• Uphold all health, safety and hygiene regulations.
• Perform any other reasonable tasks assigned by hotel management.

Required profile

• Strong communication skills.
• Ability to work under pressure.
• Capable of working independently or as part of a team.
• Flexibility to adapt to varied work situations.
• Previous experience in a similar stewarding role.
• Prior supervisory experience is advantageous.
