Systems Administrator I

About the role

The Systems Administrator I will monitor Tier 1/2 server operations, serve as the Helpdesk point‑of‑contact for NIPR and SIPR enterprise systems, and ensure system availability across the theater.

Key responsibilities

• Administer Microsoft server services including Active Directory OU, user/computer objects, security groups, Windows File Server, NPS, DHCP, Print Server and IIS.
• Manage application servers such as GemOne and maintain user account lifecycle (create, modify, deactivate).
• Configure and troubleshoot Microsoft servers on NIPR, SIPR, and SIPR‑REL networks.
• Operate System Center Operations Manager (SCOM) and System Center Configuration Manager (SCCM).
• Use vSphere client for snapshots, system monitoring and availability checks.
• Apply IAVA‑approved patches, enforce DISA STIG hardening, and maintain system security.
• Document troubleshooting steps and ticket handling in the AESMP ticketing system.
• Report outages to NOC Operations and perform other assigned duties.

Required profile

• Active Secret security clearance.
• High school diploma required; Associate’s degree in IT or related field preferred.
• Compliance with DoD 8570.01M and maintenance of at least one baseline and one Computing Environment certification.
