Vertical Transportation Engineer (VT)

About the role

WSP is looking for a Vertical Transportation Engineer to join its multidisciplinary design team in Amman, Jordan. The role focuses on developing, coordinating, and managing BIM models for elevators, escalators, moving walkways, and other specialist lifting equipment, ensuring high‑quality digital outcomes across all project stages.

Key responsibilities

• Support the project team throughout design stages and deliver efficient VT solutions.
• Produce coordinated drawings, schedules, sections, and technical documentation directly from BIM models.
• Validate VT requirements such as shaft dimensions, structural openings, pit depths, and machine‑room layouts.
• Develop and maintain detailed 3D BIM models using DigiPara, Autodesk Revit, and related platforms.
• Ensure BIM deliverables comply with project BIM Execution Plans, LOD standards, and client/company procedures.
• Create, maintain, and enhance BIM families and parametric content for VT systems.
• Support model‑based design reviews, perform quality checks, and coordinate VT systems with architectural, structural, electrical, mechanical, and public health disciplines to achieve clash‑free models.
• Participate in design review meetings and workshops.

Required profile

• Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• 5+ years of experience in BIM modelling and coordination, preferably in vertical transportation systems.
• Ability to interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
• Experience with Common Data Environments such as ACC.
• Excellent communication and interfacing skills.
• Detail‑oriented with strong analytical and organizational abilities.
