Volunteer - Family Corner Content Upload and Migration
theirc · Amman
Job description
About the role
The International Rescue Committee (IRC) is looking for a volunteer to support its Ahlan Simsim Digital team in uploading content to the Family Corner website and its content management system (CMS). The volunteer makes sure every page, file, image, video and link displays correctly and works as intended, checking each item before and after upload. The role lasts two months and depends on careful, detail-focused work.
Key responsibilities
- Upload content to the Family Corner website via the CMS, following the templates, folder structure and language versions (Arabic or English) provided by the Digital team.
- Check every item against the source for accuracy and consistency, compress files and resize images where needed.
- Place each item on the correct page and section with the right title, description, category and language version, and upload videos to YouTube where needed.
- Compare uploaded pages with the source to ensure nothing is missing, duplicated or changed, and check layout, spacing, fonts, image quality and right-to-left Arabic text on desktop and mobile.
- Flag spelling and formatting errors in Arabic and English, test every link, button, download and embedded video, and keep an Excel tracking sheet of each item's source, location, date, status and issues resolved.
- Fix problems within the volunteer's scope and report CMS errors or unclear source content to the Digital team.
- Deliver uploaded content, a tracking sheet, a completed content check with link tests, a list of open issues and a handover note at the end of two months.
Required profile
- Strong attention to detail, able to spot small errors in text, formatting, images, file names and links over many similar items.
- Good command of written Arabic and English, including noticing spelling and formatting mistakes in both.
- Good knowledge of digital files (PDFs, images, videos) and file naming and folder organization.
- Experience with MS Word and Excel, and ability to learn new online tools quickly; experience with a CMS, website editor or Canva is preferred.
- Ability to apply agreed categories and structures accurately; familiarity with early childhood development content is an advantage.
- Good time management and communication skills, availability for the full two months, and ability to follow instructions and work independently.
- Bachelor's degree or current university studies in early childhood development, education, communications or a related field is preferred.
Required skills
- MS Word and Excel
- CMS, website editor or Canva (preferred)
- Prior experience in data entry, content upload, proofreading or quality checking is preferred
What we offer
- Monthly payment after deliverables and attendance sheets are submitted and approved.
