VTC Technician I – Video Teleconferencing Specialist

About the role

The VTC Technician I will operate and maintain video teleconferencing (VTC) equipment for conferences and events worldwide. Reporting to the Site Manager, the role ensures reliable, secure connectivity and optimal audio‑visual performance for customers.

Key responsibilities

• Coordinate with customers to confirm equipment readiness.
• Set up, operate and adjust VTC consoles, cameras, microphones, digital video recorders and related AV gear.
• Establish secure and non‑secure network connections for conferences.
• Route and connect cables for audio, video and data links.
• Adjust sound and lighting levels for optimal performance.
• Troubleshoot VTC and connectivity issues with local and remote technical teams.
• Configure modems, data timing and transfer rates.
• Perform weekly maintenance on all VTC equipment and manage the VTC Bridge.
• Provide technical support for all VTC circuits attached to the bridge.

Required profile

• Active Secret security clearance.
• High school diploma or GED (additional education may substitute for experience).
• Minimum 5 years experience in video teleconferencing or audio‑video production.
• Ability to work rotating shifts to provide 24/7 coverage.
• Customer‑service orientation and ability to obtain host‑nation visa and driver’s license.

• Operation of VTC conferencing equipment and consoles.
• Audio‑video equipment setup (cameras, microphones, DVRs, displays).
• Cable routing and connection for AV and data links.
• Sound and lighting level adjustment.
• Troubleshooting VTC connectivity and reception issues.
• Modem configuration and data timing management.
• Administration and maintenance of VTC Bridge systems.
