Accounting Trainee

About the role

We are looking for an Accounting Trainee to join Chalhoub Group’s finance team. This entry‑level position offers exposure to the full accounting cycle within a leading luxury retailer operating across the Middle East.

Key responsibilities

• Follow accounting policies and procedures, performing assigned tasks under supervision and escalating complex issues.
• Verify supplier documentation, prepare reconciliations, manage payments, pre‑payments, insurance claims and overdue accounts.
• Process travel and expense reports, corporate card transactions and advances; update employee accounts in coordination with payroll and HR.
• Reconcile cash and credit‑card collections, review invoices, credit notes and deposits, and support bank reconciliations and audits.
• Raise and reconcile invoices, credit and debit notes, follow up on collections and prepare monthly aging reports.
• Handle intercompany invoices, reconciliations and payments, supporting intercompany reporting and audits.
• Process payments, maintain cash position and assist with treasury activities and bank reconciliations.
• Maintain accurate accounting records and prepare ad‑hoc reports as needed.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Accounting or Business Administration.
• Ability to work under supervision, follow procedures and communicate effectively with internal teams.
