Airfield Management Shift Lead

About the role

The Airfield Management Shift Lead is responsible for maintaining situational awareness of all airfield activities and ensuring a safe, efficient environment for aircraft operations during the assigned shift. This position oversees inspections, coordinates construction and maintenance projects, and manages weather‑related and wildlife hazards.

Key responsibilities

• Maintain overall responsibility for the AMOPS section while on duty.
• Conduct airfield inspections and verify compliance with safety and design criteria.
• Plan, organize and direct airfield construction/repairs, ice/snow removal, and bird/wildlife control programs.
• Procure and maintain flight information publications, aeronautical charts, NOTAMs, and weather data.
• Process domestic and international flight plans and coordinate with base agencies for billeting, refueling, transportation, and transient aircraft maintenance.

Required profile

• Graduate of an approved DoD/Airfield Managers course or equivalent.
• Minimum four years of aviation experience as aircrew, dispatcher, or flight follower with a 14 CFR Part 121 or Part 135 operator.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret Security Clearance (U.S. citizenship required) and a US CENTCOM medical exam.
