Application Architect

About the role

The Application Architect will own the end‑to‑end architecture of our enterprise business application platform, ensuring it meets performance, scalability and maintainability goals. This role requires relocation to Damascus and will work closely with development, DevOps and business teams to deliver integrated, high‑volume solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Define and govern the application architecture for backend, frontend, mobile, API, workflow and integration components.
• Guide the design of business modules, workflow engines, approval flows, forms, dashboards and integration services.
• Review technical designs to ensure scalability, maintainability, performance, security and usability.
• Define standards for backend customization, frontend components, mobile development, API architecture and reusable services.
• Support containerized deployment using OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker or similar platforms.
• Coordinate with DevOps on CI/CD pipelines, environment management, release strategy, rollback procedures and deployment governance.
• Review API integrations with ERP, IAM, network, planning/design, reporting and enterprise integration layers.
• Identify bottlenecks and define optimization and performance‑improvement approaches.
• Support production readiness activities, including monitoring, logging, error handling and operational support models.

Required profile

• Minimum 10 years of experience in application architecture, solution architecture or senior software engineering.
• Strong experience designing enterprise‑grade business applications for large user environments.
• Backend architecture expertise, preferably with Python‑based platforms, ERP frameworks, workflow platforms or modular business applications.
• Hands‑on experience with frontend technologies such as React JS, Angular or Vue.js.
• Experience with mobile application architecture using Flutter, React Native, native iOS/Android.
• Proven ability to design REST APIs and integration services.
• Experience with relational databases like PostgreSQL, Oracle or SQL Server.
• Experience with containerized deployment environments (OpenShift, Kubernetes, Docker).
• Strong understanding of application performance, scalability, maintainability and production support.
• Hands‑on experience with the Odoo framework or similar ERP systems.
