Assistant Maintenance Manager

About the role

The Assistant Maintenance Manager supports the hotel’s maintenance operations, ensuring all equipment, systems, and facilities are functional, safe, and well‑maintained. Working on‑site at Marriott International in Aqaba, you will collaborate with the maintenance team to deliver high‑quality service to guests and staff.

Key responsibilities

• Install, maintain, and perform preventative maintenance on tools, appliances, and equipment.
• Calibrate controls, gauges, meters and operate shut‑off valves.
• Order, label, stock parts and manage inventory and purchase order logs.
• Conduct life‑safety checks, including fire‑pump and generator run tests.
• Inspect fire‑sprinkler valves, alarm systems and assist in disaster‑response protocol development.
• Respond to guest repair requests and ensure timely resolution.
• Support management in hiring, training, scheduling, evaluating and coaching maintenance staff.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, reporting hazards and incidents.

Required profile

• Minimum 2 years of related maintenance experience.
• At least 2 years of supervisory experience.
• Technical, trade or vocational education preferred.
• Ability to perform physical tasks such as lifting up to 50 lb, reaching overhead, and navigating stairs.
• Strong communication skills and professional appearance.
