Back End LSM Mechanic – Maintenance Technician

About the role

The Back End LSM Mechanic is responsible for maintaining, repairing, and troubleshooting LSM equipment used in the back‑end production line of a can manufacturing operation. The role focuses on ensuring machines run efficiently, minimizing downtime, and supporting overall production quality.

Key responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance on LSM machines and associated equipment.
• Diagnose and resolve mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic faults, identifying root causes.
• Repair, overhaul, or replace components such as motors, gears, bearings, sensors, and control systems.
• Conduct regular inspections to detect early signs of wear or failure.
• Collaborate with production operators and maintenance teams to optimise machine settings.
• Maintain accurate maintenance logs, parts usage records, and performance data.
• Assist with installation, commissioning, and upgrades of new LSM equipment.
• Participate in continuous‑improvement projects aimed at reliability and cost reduction.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical, electrical, or industrial maintenance preferred.
• 1–2 years of experience maintaining high‑speed industrial machinery, preferably LSM or similar equipment.
• Ability to read technical manuals, schematics, and blueprints.
• Willingness to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as production demands.
• Physical capability to lift heavy parts and work in varied environmental conditions.
