Board-Certified Internal Medicine Specialist

About the role

The Hospital seeks a Board‑Certified Internal Medicine Specialist to oversee patient care across internal medicine subspecialties, admit general cases, and provide supervision to hospitalists, residents, and trainees. The role includes active participation in quality improvement and support for the Internal Medicine Residency Programme.

Key responsibilities

• Lead ward rounds and manage complex medical cases.
• Respond to acutely deteriorating patients and make initial clinical decisions.
• Assist emergency‑room physicians with rapid assessment of medical patients.
• Receive ICU step‑downs, evaluate appropriateness, and coordinate floor readiness.
• Address medical emergencies on other units, such as chest pain in orthopedic patients.
• Maintain admission rights for insured internal medicine cases.
• Support the Internal Medicine Residency Programme Director with administrative, clinical, and educational supervision.
• Incorporate quality‑improvement and patient‑satisfaction data into departmental goals.
• Collaborate with other departments to develop systems that improve patient care delivery.
• Assist the Chief Medical Officer in implementing and updating policies and procedures.

Required profile

• Board certification in Internal Medicine.
• Ability to supervise hospitalists, residents, and trainees.
• Strong understanding of regulations governing patient care and hospital operations.
• Commitment to a healthy work environment and professional ethics.
