Business Process Engineering Lead (Telecom)

About the role
We are seeking a Business Process Engineering Lead to drive end‑to‑end process optimisation for our telecom fibre‑rollout programme in Damascus. The role will design, model and implement streamlined workflows, introduce automation and ensure alignment with the organisation’s digital transformation strategy.
Key responsibilities
- Lead discovery sessions with senior stakeholders to capture current operations, pain points and strategic objectives of the fibre rollout team.
- Review and approve AS‑IS process documentation, ensuring accuracy and compliance with modelling standards.
- Define TO‑BE enterprise‑level process architecture using re‑engineering, Lean and continuous‑improvement methods.
- Establish BPMN 2.0 modelling standards, guidelines and quality benchmarks for the team.
- Design and redesign complex, cross‑functional processes in BPMN modelling tools.
- Conduct gap analysis and produce actionable recommendations aligned with business goals.
- Identify, assess and lead automation, RPA and intelligent orchestration opportunities.
- Drive digitisation of manual and paper‑based processes, creating digital workflows.
- Oversee implementation, coordinate go‑live activities and conduct post‑implementation reviews.
- Define integration requirements with enterprise systems in collaboration with IT.
- Establish governance frameworks, process ownership structures and RACI models.
- Develop and monitor KPIs, SLAs and benefit‑realisation metrics.
- Maintain a reusable library of process assets, templates and standards.
- Guide, mentor and review the work of the Business Process Engineer reporting to this role.
Required profile
- Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Business Administration or Information Systems.
- 8–10 years of experience in business process engineering or BPM, with at least 3–4 years in a senior or lead capacity.
- Hands‑on experience across the full BPM lifecycle: AS‑IS discovery, TO‑BE design, modelling, validation, implementation and integration.
- Experience in telecom fibre rollout is a strong advantage.
Required skills
- Proficiency in BPMN 2.0.
- Experience with BPMS platforms such as ARIS, Pegasystems, Appian, Bizagi or Camunda.
- Knowledge of Robotic Process Automation (RPA) tools and intelligent process orchestration.
- Strong capability in process modelling and redesign using BPM tools.
