Cargo Commercial Senior Officer

About the role

The Cargo Commercial Senior Officer supports daily cargo booking and sales activities for an airline, ensuring accurate reservation handling and effective communication with agents and customers. The role contributes to cargo capacity utilization, revenue targets, and the overall reliability of cargo services.

Key responsibilities

• Receive and process cargo booking requests, confirming aircraft capacity and updating the cargo system.
• Handle customer calls, enter shipment details accurately, and confirm reservations based on flight availability.
• Communicate available cargo capacity on freighter and passenger aircraft to agents, outstations, and handling agents.
• Coordinate offloaded cargo arrangements, secure earliest flights, and notify relevant parties.
• Support cargo sales revenue targets and annual commercial objectives.
• Maintain regular communication with agents, freight forwarders, customers, and outstations.
• Monitor cargo volumes on incoming flights and propose initiatives to improve sales on low‑volume routes.
• Assist mail and courier sales activities while ensuring on‑time performance.
• Track market trends and competitor services to identify new business opportunities.

Required profile

• Bachelor’s degree in Logistics, Business Administration, or a related field.
• 0–3 years of experience in cargo booking, sales, or logistics.
• Strong English language proficiency.
• Excellent communication and customer service skills.
• Safety and security awareness.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage time effectively.
• Team‑oriented mindset.
