Commis 2 – Kitchen Assistant (Full‑time)

About the role

The Commis 2 supports the culinary team at a Marriott hotel in Amman by preparing ingredients, cooking simple dishes, and maintaining a clean, safe kitchen environment. This full‑time position is ideal for individuals with basic kitchen experience who are eager to develop their culinary skills.

Key responsibilities

• Prepare ingredients: portion, chop, wash, peel, weigh, measure and mix according to recipes.
• Cook and assemble cold and hot foods, ensuring quality, presentation and temperature standards.
• Operate kitchen equipment such as ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers safely.
• Monitor food quality, test doneness and adjust cooking times as needed.
• Set up and break down work stations, serve food in proper portions, and maintain cleanliness of the kitchen, tools and equipment.
• Follow all safety, security and company policies, reporting any hazards or incidents.

Required profile

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• At least 1 year of experience in a food‑service or kitchen environment.
• Ability to stand, walk or sit for extended periods and lift objects up to 25 lb.
• Professional appearance and ability to communicate clearly.

Required skills

• Operating ovens, stoves, grills, microwaves and fryers.
• Food preparation and basic cooking techniques.
